Cutting Back on Sodas

November 27, 2012 // Posted in Eats and Drinks, Life (Tags: , , ) |  Comments Off on Cutting Back on Sodas

Well, my dentist has told me that my teeth are in bad shape and he is blaming all the sodas that I drink. So now I am going to have to cut back on the sodas and drink something with less sugar. I guess I don’t need the calories from the sodas, either. So it’s for the best, healthwise.

So, what else is there to drink. I have to find something that has some flavor to it. I don’t like milk, but I guess I have to start drinking a couple of glasses of milk in the mornings. Maybe if I add some chocolate syrup or even strawberry syrup to the milk that it will go down a little easier?

One thing I do like to drink is water with a little sprinkle of Crystal Lite lemonade or other fruit flavors. I tried the lemonade with raspberry and it was delicious. They also have a green tea line of flavors, so maybe I can find enough variety to keep this new resolve going strong and get my teeth back to good shape – and a smaller waistline, too!

Growing Fond of Jimmy Fallon

When I have a an extra half hour at night I turn on one of the late night talk shows. I have never really liked Jay Leno, so I almost never watch his show. I loved Johnny Carson. Hate Jay Leno – especially after he fucked over Conan for that time slot.

Years ago I used to watch the David Letterman show but he has had his scandals and I lost respect for him as a person. I feel dirty watching his show – like I am supporting old white men who take advantage of their power and money and fuck over the people who work for them. So I was looking for an alternative to Leno and Letterman and I am so glad that I fond the Jimmy Gallon show.

You might remember Fallon from his gigs on Saturday Night Live. I think he is funny as hell, but more than that, his show has fun segments and tops stars. It really is entertainment on his show. So I try to tune in to Jimmy Fallon when I have the chance. I like the guy and out of the late night shows on TV, I think he is the best.

Ordering Online is a Bitch

So I wanted to order some flowers to send to my brother’s house. He was throwing a huge party for my mom’s birthday and since I couldn’t make it up there for the party I wanted to send her some flowers. I figured I would call an FTD florist or maybe a Teleflora shop or 1-800-FLOWERS and see if I could get a nice arrangement for about $50-$60.

I went online and checked the different sites and what their arrangements looked like and decided to get an FTD floral centerpiece with a hurricane lamp. I know I can get those glass hurricane lamps here at the Pottery barn for like $4, but the arrangements that had the hurricane glas started at $100.

That’s a pretty big difference between what they are charging and what I wanted to spend, so I decided to check online for any discount coupon codes or special deals and I did find a good one for 20% off site wide. I clicked on that puppy and sure enough they marked the price of the arrangement I wanted down to $80. But then when they added the delivery charge and service fee and tax to the order, it went right back up to $100. It was like they were determined to get $100 out of my ass one way or the other.

Using the online shopping cart was a bit of a pain in the ass but I got through it. I spent more money that I wanted and I can’t help but think that if I had been able to talk to the florist at the shop in person instead of ordering it online from their limited selection that I could have saved some money and stayed closer to my budget.

But, all in all, its for my mom and I really wish I could have been there at her party to wish her a happy birthday in person and give her a big hug. But I hope she and the other party guests enjoyed the flowers that I sent.

Called GoDaddy Tech Support – It Was Awesome

Had a weird problem with my blog last night and I called GoDaddy technical support to ask for help. This is the best damn thing about GoDaddy – they have live tech support guys there to answer the phone, 24/7. Some other hosting companies make you send in a trouble ticket and wait for them to get back with you. I actually had to wait for 3 days with one company and then the answer they sent back by email wasn’t the solution and I had to send in ANOTHER trouble ticket and wait another fucking day!

The GoDaddy guys seem to know every answer right on top of their head and they are so patient with me. I had a guy who walked me though it step by step and then he also sent me an email with a link to a tutorial in case I have to do it again. That was top notch customer service and I am so very grateful to GoDaddy for making the help available by phone. It was the BEST!

Can’t Find my Fucking Phone

What the hell was wrong with me last night that I couldn’t get my cell phone to the dresser in my bedroom and plug it in to recharge overnight? I went to get my cell phone to put it in my purse this morning and it wasn’t on the charger. So I don’t know where the hell it would be. I looked all over the fucking house and can’t find it.

It doesn’t do any good to call the fucking phone because the fucking batteries are dead now and it won’t ring anyway. FML!
